PROBUS CLUB

OF

RICHMOND, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Founded in 1981 to provide facilities
for retired and semi-retired professional and business men
to meet in fellowship and to maintain social contacts.

Probus Club of Richmond meet at 10.15am on

the second and fourth Wednesday
each month in an informal and cordial atmosphere at the

Richmondshire Cricket Club, Hurgill Road, Richmond.

After a short Club business meeting, a high standard

of guest speakers provide talks on a wide variety of subjects.

Between thirty and forty members attend the meetings and

afterwards enjoy a drink and inexpensive

lunch provided by the Cricket Club.

The sixty plus members range in age from late fifties to upper
eighties, and enjoy the opportunity to meet friends of similar age.

A Christmas lunch, and a Spring lunch to which wives and other non-members

are invited, are held in December and March.

Additional outside visits to places of special interest are arranged

and when possible these are open to family, non members and friends.

At the Annual General Meeting in November, the officials are elected,

the annual membership subscription (presently £10) is set

and all aspects of the organisation of the Club are discussed.

The Committee, comprising all the officials, holds periodic management

meetings to ensure the smooth running of the Club.
